Empower mentoring is the second program started by Men on a Mission. This program focuses on identifying youth that are considered at risk and connecting them with a productive member of their community to walk alongside them, guiding them towards making good decisions, utilizing resources within the community and exercising the voice they have. Our program was developed based on research done by DYS Division of Youth services in conjunction with UALR University of Arkansas at Little Rock. From that research, we identified a model that we believe to be beneficial when looking to structure a successful mentoring program as well as develop healthy and productive mentor/mentee relationships.
